And then there was fire

And then there was fire, is a restaurant in Krugersdorp at the Nirox Sculpture Park.
It is 45 minutes away from Johannesburg and Pretoria. 20-30 minutes if you live around Northriding, Honeydew or Clearwater. If you enjoy the scenic feel around you and would like a quiet getaway that’s quite secluded from the city life, this is one of the restaurants you should check out.
The aesthetic‘s of the restaurant is monochromatic of natural wood that fades into white.
It gives it a calm and relaxed feel, with great lighting and the feeling of space around you.
The restaurant is in two areas. One is the inside known as the Tapas café where they serve tapas food. The other is the Garden or Woodfired grill where the main menu meals are.
The meals that I ordered were; a half deboned chicken served with French fries plus the Pork Belly served with fennel, celery & apple salad. The chicken was tasty and seasoned very well. It was moist and easy to chew; I give it a 9/10. The pork belly looked appetising; the meat was quite soft, the fatty part of the pork belly (crackling) was quite crispy; I felt it needed a bit of salt to give it a bit more flavour. A bottle of salt is provided on the side to sprinkle the salt to your desire. I give it an 8/10.
The restaurant opens from 11:30 am - 4 pm. Thursday to Sunday.
Bookings are essential. R100 deposit is required for each person coming.
The deposit will be deducted from your meal once you pay.
